ABOUT Serdung Guest house
Tucked under the shade of apricot trees and
surrounded by the greens of lettuce plants, Serdung guest house is a family
owned homestay. It is run by a retired couple – Norboo and Dolma, who take
immense pride and joy in serving guests with pleasant stay. When you meet them,
you’ll see how they go above and beyond to make you feel at home.
Today, Norboo runs an NGO named CENSFOOD – Centre for sustainable development and food security in Ladakh, under which the nomad communities of Ladakh are supported with food and shelter supplies, to save them from the harsh winter months when they get cut off from the rest of the world! The NGO also supports the education of local kids, providing 80 percent free education.
Dolma, on the other hand, is the sweetest lady you will ever meet! An ex-teacher, she now finds her happiness in cooking and feeding guests (until pigged out!) along with reading chants and prayers of Buddhism.
